Das Goethejahr
03.10.2005 | NDR
The jealous people in the local bar are finally getting over the fact that the neighbor village Klingsiehl is making a ton of tourist revenue due to local poet Horst Hoppenhoff. Then the two constantly broke farmers Kurt Brakelmann and Adsche Tönnsen find some old junk and manuscripts while cleaning up. Major Schönbiehl takes a look at the items and manuscripts and announces that they are not from Horst Hoppenhoff but from Goethe. It doesn’t take long for everyone to realize that that’s even better, and immediately, the little sympathetic village starts marketing the big cultural discovery. While Brakelmann continues looking for ways to make the most money out of the junk that obviously belonged to the German King of Poets, Adsche starts researching his family’s history. He can really feel it – Goethe is his Great-Grandfather!
